2026 Pat Morelock Memorial $500 Scholarship

High School Graduate through College Senior Pursing Post-Secondary Education, MEMBERS ONLY (can submit membership and fees with this application)
The Hendricks County Horseman’s Club Scholarship Fund was established to encourage academic excellence and to award scholarships to individuals wishing to pursue post-secondary education.
ELIGIBILITY – This Hendricks County Horseman’s Club Scholarship is available to all 2026 high school graduates through college seniors who are pursuing post-secondary education (colleges, universities, and trade schools) and who is a member of the Hendricks County Horseman’s Club. Proof of enrollment required.
CRITERIA – Selection criteria will be competitive, based on:
- High school academic performance (Provide Transcript)
- Community service
- Activities in the horse industry
- A written essay titled “How volunteering has impacted my life”
To qualify for this Scholarship applicants must submit his or her application with a typed, 12 point font, 1 inch margins, double-spaced, 1500 maximum word count essay to the Hendricks County Horseman’s Club Scholarship Board of Directors. Each essay should contain a cover sheet with the applicant’s name, address and biographical information.
- Must exhibit or volunteer at two of our three shows (May, June, July)
Any application postmarked or emailed on or before July 15, 2026 will be considered. The Board has the right to refuse a scholarship to any applicant that does not meet the standards set forth by the board.
A scholarship board appointed by HCHC Board of Directors will review applications. Notification of scholarship award will be at our 2026 Fall Fun/Awards Show (September 5, 2026).
Once scholarships are awarded, scholarship funds will be paid directly to the winning applicant.
